The First Congregational Church of Southampton MA UCC is facing significant challenges in every aspect of its church life, and to be faithful to God and one another we need to decide upon our future path and plan. Everyone is needed to participate in a series of conversations led by Rev. Susan Murtha, a Church Transition Specialist with significant experience in this work. We need every member to come to this important church family discussion on February 8th following worship in the parish hall (light lunch provided). This is the first of a 4-part process of discussion, discovery, discernment and decision on the path we will explore. Can we count on you?

Rev. Susan Murtha: A Bit About Me
Ordained in the United Church of Christ in 1998, my first 14 years were as a settled minister where I grew in church life and leadership through gifted mentors and diverse experiences. After training and certification for Transitional Ministry in 2011, this specialized work became a second calling as it combines my gifts for leading change, spiritual grounding, problem-solving, and organizational systems. I love what I do!
I was raised Roman Catholic and, as a young adult seeker, I found rich nurture in a Quaker community for six years before choosing a church home for my family in a local Congregational church. My first career was as a mechanical engineer at United Technologies Corp where I worked with a team that built the then largest wind turbines in the world and partnered with NASA for continued research. My son and his family live in San Francisco and, despite the distance, we share much time and connection on both coasts. I live in Hamden, CT.
