Yet, there are so many other special services and opportunities for unique worship throughout the year! Blessing of the Animals Service

Held in September outside, weather permitting.  In the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for animals and creation, folks are invited to bring their contained/restrained pets to worship on this day for a special blessing and celebration of all God’s creatures great and small.

All Saints’ Service

Held on November 1st. This evening worship service remembers and celebrates those individuals who have died among us during the past year, as well as those “saints” who have influenced our personal and collective lives.

Advent Services

Held during the first four Sundays of Advent and includes special readings and practices unique to Advent.

Hanging of the Greens

Held the first Sunday of Advent. During worship, we festively decorate and bless our Advent and Christmas decorations, and spiritually prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ.

Christmas Pageant Sunday Service

Held by our Church School in December to the delight of all!

Christmas Eve Service of Candlelight and Readings

Dec. 24th when we joyfully welcome Christ’s birth into the world with singing and reflection.

Baptism of Jesus Christ and Renewal of Our Baptismal Promises

Held in January and open to anyone who wishes to renew and remember the promises made at their baptism. New candidates for baptism can also be received on this date, as well as throughout the year.

Maundy Thursday

Held during Holy Week.  This service commemorates and re-enacts Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples, and telling the story of his betrayal, arrest, trial, and crucifixion. Tenebrae is observed at this service (the dimming of candles to represent the desertion of the disciples) as well as ritual hand/foot washing.

Easter Sunrise Service

Held on the hill directly behind the church at Easter. Communion is joyfully celebrated at Sunrise with the gathered community as we watch the darkness of despair dissipate and God’s holy light shine forth.

Easter Festival Worship

Held on Easter Sunday. A joyful and festive worship celebrating Christ’s resurrection and his victory over death in the world.

Children’s Sunday

Held in late Spring. This service is specifically designed to celebrate the gifts, talents, concerns, and faith of our Children and Youth.

Pentecost

Held 50 days after Easter. The “annual” birthday of the Church and celebrating the calling of the disciples to be the Church of Jesus Christ.  Red is the prominent color during this service and many of our members and visitors wear red clothing in celebration!
