The people of our Congregation’s Mission & Outreach Program welcome you!
To utilize all of our resources to actively serve those most in need, both locally and globally… that is part of our mission statement and one of the reasons we ask you to get involved.
What inspires you the most? Are you searching for something fulfilling and rewarding in life? Give meaning to your ideas and actions through volunteering! Our Missions & Outreach Program has many opportunities for you to get involved and seek one that fits you and your talents. As a congregation, it is our goal to help enrich the quality of life for those in our own community, as well as around the world.
To find out what intrigues you most, here is a sampling of ways you can get immersed into our congregation’s mission community:
Southampton Community Cupboard
Located in the parish hall of our very own church, the food pantry is open every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 10 am to 12 pm in order to provide supplemental food to anyone in need. Volunteers are always needed to help stock shelves, make deliveries, open the pantry, serve guests, and shop for food. Our pantry is dedicated to serving those in need with discretion and compassion.
CROP Hunger Walk
There are many ways to support this worthy cause to help stop hunger. Walkers are always needs as well as coordinators…and it’s tons of fun!
Shelter Meal Volunteer
Is cooking your passion? Share your joy cooking up a meal for our homeless neighbors at the Interfaith Cot Shelter. Can’t cook? Servers and organizers are also needed. You choose…
Nationally & Globally
Our congregation currently sponsors children from El Salvador and South Africa. Are you looking for an opportunity to involve your own children? Have them correspond with our sponsored children via written letters and pictures. We have a photo album of all our sponsored children and their response letters. Come check it out in our old school room.
Missions supports such organizations as Oiko Credit program, One Great Hour of Sharing, Church World Services, Bread for the World, Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity, Partners in Health, Grove Street Shelter, Fuel Bank, Dakin Animal Shelter, Jessie’s House, Safe Passage and more.
