There are many ways to be involved in the church, from something as simple as gathering with us on Wednesday mornings for Prayer Group or getting together with our “Holy Rollers” as they roll old sheets into bandages that are used overseas in war torn areas. Perhaps you are called to serve on one of our committees, or to committing to teach a Sunday school class for a few weeks each year. You may even be called to singing God’s praises in our choir. Whatever it is you feel called to do we are glad you have decided to share your talents with us and with God.
“Your talent is Gods gift to you.
What you do with it is your gift back to God”
Here is just a sampling of the ways you may become involved:
Our prayer group meets every other Wednesday at 9:15 am to pray for the concerns and needs of the congregation. We meet for approximately an hour. The first part of our meeting includes a short devotion and brief scripture reflection and the second part includes a shared prayer time. We also send cards to those in our community who are in the hospital or confined to home, and write notes of encouragement to those who may be struggling. Prayer group is informal and we welcome “drop-ins.” If you are interested in offering your prayers and presence for those on our prayer list, please consider this outreach and ministry. For more information, please contact the church office, 527-1173 or speak with the Pastor.
Our church is blessed to be an incredibly musical community of faith with a vibrant and diverse music ministry. Under the direction of our Music Director, Kathy Marks, members and friends sing in our Sunday choir, offer both traditional and contemporary anthems, and give praise to God with a variety of instruments and special music. We invite anyone who wishes to lift his or her voice in song to join our choir which typically meets on Wednesday evenings. If you play an instrument, you are invited to participate in one of several Special Music Sundays offered through the year. In the past, we have also featured a Bell Choir for holiday services and special events, as well providing other opportunities to sing for our larger community–by visiting nursing facilities, participating in carol sing-a-longs, and other musical happenings. For more information about our choir or opportunities to make music here at the church, please contact our Music Director, Kathy Marks, at 527-1173. We look forward to singing with you!
We are a democratically run organization with lots of opportunities for you to serve on any of our management teams.
