Finance and Operations Committee Announces Big Y Gift Card Program

The Finance and Operations committee is pleased to announce our newest stewardship endeavor. Beginning March 1st, the church will begin participating in the Big Y Gift Card Fundraising program.

Church members (friends and family) will be able to purchase Big Y Gift Cards in $50 denominations at face value for use at any Big Y location. Big Y will sell the church the gift cards at a 2% discount (6% during the months of April and October). As the church members grocery shop each week, 2% of the purchase price will directly benefit our church.

We feel this is an easy and fabulous way to increase our financial support of the church. After all, we all eat!! And this will also allow us to purchase “spiritual” nutrition!!

Order forms are now available at the church. Simply complete the order form, write out your check (made out to the First Congregational Church), and submit to the Church Co-Collector (Audrey Bashista) by either the 1st or 3rd Sundays of the month. The gift cards will be ordered and available for pick up at the church on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.

Big Y offers and increased discount of 6% for any gift cards purchased during the months of April and October. So don’t wait to participate in this great program.

Our church will be joining 362 other churches, synagogues, and schools all ready taking advantage of this unique fundraising opportunity.
